For the Thai, April is a month of celebration! On April 13, Thai celebrates its new year, Songkran. This is a time where the Thai community comes together, showing respect for their elders and visiting temples to pray and make offerings.
This year, we plan to celebrate in a less traditional way. The holiday is about giving as well as being blessed. As a small business that has been largely impacted by the pandemic, we are still committed to do what we can to get through this time together. This is the time we need to be united, building a better tomorrow not only for ourselves, but for our future generations. At Waldo Thai, we do this in the way we know best–through food. Throughout the month of April, we will be hosting a series of events with a food-centric message: #loveourpeople.
To start, on April 11, we are excited to announce our Lanna Dinner: Celebrating Songkran, with Lanna food from northern Thailand, where Chef Pam Liberda grew up. This is a great time to celebrate and enjoy traditional Thai Lanna cuisine. Proceeds from the dinner will go to funding new year meals for workers in the hospitality industry, with support from Angel’s Envy.
The dinner is available both dine-in and togo. Menu and reservation is available at www.waldothaiplace.com/songkran
